How to Choose a
Digital Photo Picture Frames

Digital photo picture frames are the perfect gift for that someone who seems to have everything... OR for just about anyone on your Christmas list (or Birthday, Fathers' Day, Mothers' Day, Anniversary,...)! You don't need to be technically-savvy to be able to work digital photo frames... at least not with the better frames.

Since I'm a deal-hunter, I must admit that we've given some fairly rotten digital frames as gifts. I found a brand that was extremely well-priced (more like crazy-cheap) a few years ago, so I bought several for Mothers' Day gifts. Well, I figured out why they were so cheap! They worked... barely... but getting them to work required major technical ability and a great deal of patience. I still get a call from my Mother-in-Law every time she wants to show off her grandkids on the digital frame. Boy, did I learn my lesson!

With the best digital photo frames, you simply take your memory card out of your camera and stick it in the frame. The default settings are generally what most people will want to use and the interface to change those settings is usually very intuitive.

I've since tried several and, to me, the best digital photo frame, by far, is from Brookstone. They have several sizes to choose from and beautiful frames. They're not cheap, but, in this case, quality really DOES matter. After all, do you really want your Mother-in-Law calling you more often?

Update: It's been several years since I wrote this page. There are now lots more digital photo picture frames to choose from. Sony and Kodak each make some of the best digital picture frames. Sadly, there are still many digital frames on the market that are utter junk. My best advice is to carefully check digital photo frame reviews online before buying.
