Software to create photo cards with my photos

by Roger Kiraly
(Huntington, MA USA)

I have been using Strathmore Digital Photo cards (glossy finish, 5 x 7) to make photo cards to give to friends. Strathmore used to have a website called Strathmore Print Center where you could upload your photos and then print out the cards on your printer. You had a choice of portrait or landscape, bordered or "full" cards.

Now Strathmore has discontinued that website (probably to save money) and made downloadable templates available to use in Word. However, the templates are hell to use. Instead of automatically sizing the photos to fit the Strathmore cards, you have to mess around with resizing the photos. Of course, once you do that the cards never print out the way they look in Word's Print Preview. Plus trying to set all of the printing parameters between the Word settings and my Canon printer's settings is a nightmare.

All of this stuff used to be done automatically online when Stratmore still had the Print Center. I messed around for over two hours today with the downloadable templates and accomplished nothing more than wasted cards and elevated blood pressure.

Is there any photo card software that will allow me to make photo cards easily? I'd like to be able to use the 5 x 7 Strathmore half-fold stock that I have left, so any software program would have to have templates for that paper. (The actually dimensions of the paper is 10 x 7 with the fold in the middle.)

We have Greeting Card Factory Deluxe, but it doesn't have templates for the Strathmore paper. It only has templates for much larger cards, which I don't like. The Strathmore paper comes with envelopes, too. Any help you can give me in this matter will be appreciated!

Thanks....Roger
