Unique Photo Invitations

It's easy to make creative and unique photo invitations. In fact, with your own custom photos included, it's going to be unique by default. But what you're probably looking for is creative ideas to make your party invitations stand out from the same ol' same ol'. Right?

Here are a few ideas for unique photo invitations. After you've created your own, make sure to come back here and share your creations to inspire others!

Photo Graduation Invitations

College and high school graduation photo invitations are especially fitting. Many relatives and family friends who will receive these invitations won't have seen the graduate in several months or even several years! Before they send a graduation gift, they might enjoy seeing a few photos and reading about the graduate's future plans. Sending custom photo invitations (whether homemade or designed and printed by a service) can really add a special touch.

Photo Baby Shower Invitations

I'm not sure a baby's sonogram really suits the occasion (although I HAVE seen it done!) but a baby shower is a terrific time to share photos of the happy parents-to-be. If you can design and print the invitations quickly, and if the baby shower is on the late side of the pregnancy, it would be fun to include a recent photo of the pregnant mother.

And, of course, adding baby photos to your own baby shower thank you notes is a really special touch. Your friends and family would be super-impressed that you found the time with a newborn in the house! Come to think of it, this would make a terrific baby shower gift: Offer to make the Mom's thank you cards for her with a photo of her newbord. All she has to do is write a quick blurb and mail!

Photo Bridal Shower Invitations

Bridal shower hostesses rarely ever use unique photo invitations, but it's really a perfect time for photos. Some of the guests might not have even met the husband-to-be yet, so wedding shower photo invitations are a terrific idea! The shower hostess can offer to take photos of the happy couple to use for the invitations as well as any newspaper announcements. It may even be the first photo the couple has together!

Photo Anniversary Invitations

Anniversary parties are an excellent time to use photos... and LOTS of them! The invitation itself can contain a photo of the couple's wedding and the date as well. If you're a poet, try writing a cute little poem to include on the invitation... something about the couple sticking it out through the good times and bad, their years together, and how they continue to stay in love with each other.

Surprise your parents (or whoever you're hosting the party for) not only with custom photo anniversary invitations, but also with photos all over party location. Ask friends and relatives for photos of the couple from various phases of their life together, have the photos enlarged, and place them all around the party venue. Many companies that enlarge photos will back them with a sturdy cardboard so that you won't even need frames. This idea works best when the couple doesn't know about it in advance so try to collect as many photos as you can without their assistance. I guarantee you they'll LOVE it! And so will the guests!

Photo Baptism Invitations

This one's kind of obvious I guess, but I might as well mention it. In fact, some people might not think to use a baby photo for a Baptism Invitation because, like a wedding invitation, the tradition is a little more plain. Photo invitations CAN be just as elegant and even more beautiful.

Housewarming Party Invitations

Another great use of photographs! Show everyone your house, in case they can't come, and a photo housewarming invitation serves the dual purpose of helping guests find your house when they CAN come!

Of course, use the same technique for "We've Moved" notices. Don't just send your address. Show your friends and family the house with a picture!

Other Photo Party Invitations

Photos make any party invitation unique as well! For a going away party, share photos of the friends as well as the friends they're leaving behind. They'll treasure the invitation as a reminder of good friends once they've moved. And photo books make a terrific going away gift for friends who are moving.

Any ol' party will do too. Having an adults-only cocktail party for your neighborhood friends? Include a photo that relates to the theme. Having a mystery party or a costume party, get your guests in the mood by including a photo of the hosts dressed up in their chosen outfit for the night.
